We have powered through all the veggies now, sweet potatoes are Ella's favorite. I couldn't get the spoon in her mouth fast enough and before I could get more potatoes for her, her mouth was open waiting for the next bite. It is so much easier to feed her when she is eager to eat what I am giving her! Especially after a few days of carrots. She is not a fan, no matter how many times I have her try them. I don't blame her though, I tried them and they are truly gross in mush form!
We started fruits today, bananas were first on the list and man were they yummy. I could have eaten them all myself, but remembered that they were not for grown ups! She is a huge fan of the sweet stuff, that is for sure. She must take after her mother on that, and since Brandon won't eat any veggie but corn, I guess she is taking after me there too. I know that kids tast buds change, so I hope she continues to be such a good eater!

Peas, yum!
So after 3 days of green beans, which Ella decided she does like, we made the switch to peas. She didn't make any faces, didn't spit any of it out and ate the entire container! I think it is safe to say that she is a fan of peas, though she could change her mind tomorrow, we shall see!

Here come the teeth
Ella is officially getting her first tooth! It is very exciting, yet kind of sad at the same time. I can tell she is in pain, and is of course fussier than normal. The fussing doesn't bother me, it is the fact that I cannot help take away her pain. She seems happy chewing on a cold wash cloth one minute, but is crying and red faced the next. I wish I could make her feel better! We did try giving her a pain reliever, it seemed to help and she went right to sleep. Hoping for a silent night tonight!
We had her 6 month check up yesterday. She is 16 pounds, 2 ounces and is 25 inches long, putting her in the 50th percentile for her age group. She is able to start eating other foods now and we started green beans last night, she was not a fan! she did a bit better today, but I had to mix them in with the rice cereal to get her to eat them. The doctor did notice that her lower eye lashes are growing in towards her eyes, so we will need to keep an eye on that. Hopefully, it will correct naturally and the lower lids will start pushing out. I find that so odd, I never really thought that could be a problem! She got 3 more shots as well, so it was a rough day for her yesterday. Tooth, shots and green beans all in one day!

Big girl
I can't believe how big my baby girl is getting! She is already 6 months old and is now sitting all by herself. We of course have to sit her in that position, but she holds her own once she's there. She is eating cereal, sitting on her own, and talking up a storm....what happened to my little baby?? A big girl has taken her place! She is growing up so fast.....
Solid Foods, yeah!
Ella has been eating rice cereal for the past two weeks. She is getting much better now at keeping it in her mouth, that first week was a bit tricky! She seems to love it, which is wonderful. We see the doctor on Monday and should be able to start veggies and fruits next week! Here are some pics from the memorable first time eating cereal. Apparently we took too long of a video, so I can't get it to upload on here......bummer.
Here we are sitting in the high chair, bib on, pumped to get things started. What you don't see is that Brandon had the video camera set up and had camera in hand to document this huge moment.
I placed a little on her tray so she could check it out before eating it, she was not really sure what to make of it, and only put one finger in it.
After a few bites she was trying to do it herself, a bit ambitious I think!
Yummmmm, cereal
We made quite the mess, a lot of what went in, came right back out a few times before she started to get the hang of this whole eating thing.
